Pressure Coefficient

Pressure Coefficient is a very good non-dimensional representation of pressure and is frequently used in aerodynamic studies. It is given by

$$C_p~=~\left({ {p~-~p_\infty}\over {1/2 \rho~V_\infty ^2}}\right)$$ (5.14)

where p is the pressure and $p_\infty$ is the pressure at freestream and $V_\infty$ is the freestream speed.
